Most therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Payment for each session is made at the time of the appointment. Fees available upon request. Appointments not cancelled 48 hours in advance will be charged.

While I am not a member of HMO panels, I am a licensed psychotherapist and many insurance companies and PPO health plans will cover some portion of charges.

It is advisable to check with your insurance carrier to understand your mental health benefits. If necessary, I am happy to provide you with a detailed monthly itemization of our sessions that you may submit to your insurance company. Clients will be responsible to file their own insurance claims.

In psychotherapy, the communication between a client and their therapist is protected by confidentiality.

Information is not disclosed without written permission following a discussion about the risks and benefits associated with releasing confidentiality.

There are some exceptions required by law. These include: 1) where there is a reasonable suspicion of child abuse or elder adult physical abuse; 2) where there is a reasonable suspicion that the client may present a danger of violence to others; 3) where there is a reasonable suspicion that the client is likely to harm themselves unless protective measures are taken.

If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to work with them to find a way to protect them to ensure their safety. As a last resort, if they are unable to cooperate, I am required by law to take further measures without their consent to protect them.

For some clients, psychotropic medications can benefit their progress. Although I am not licensed to prescribe, I consult and refer to several psychiatrists to assist with appropriate medications.
